Astonishing colour and beauty emanate from the scrolls, manuscripts and printed books that are reproduced throughout, while the idea of the ‘Middle Path’ – promoting mindfulness, compassion, tolerance and non-violence – is presented with a renewed relevance for a 21st-century audience.
